NHA to Recover 4,000 km Long Road Network During 2023
According to media reports, Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed recently announced in Islamabad that the National Highway Authority (NHA) will soon begin rehabilitation and restoration work on 4,000-kilometer-long road segments throughout the country. Construction work on new roads has already begun.

The federal minister made these remarks while presiding over an assessment of national highway and motorway construction projects. The meeting was held at the Ministry of Communications with NHA personnel and senior Ministry of Communications officials in attendance.
Minister Saeed claimed that this was the first time a detailed strategy for the upkeep of old roads and the development of new roads had been developed. In addition, he disclosed that more than 200 road maintenance projects were planned for the country.
In addition, the minister indicated, while discussing the new projects, that the names and phone numbers of the contractors, project directors, and general managers would be listed on the signs of each project. In addition, information regarding all NHA projects would be posted on the NHA website. It is anticipated that this approach will ensure that every officer is responsible and accountable to the public.

In addition, the conference was informed that the NHA had finished the building of a 1,654-kilometer road segment over the past three years, and that work was already underway on a 6,117-kilometer road segment. In addition, it was announced that the NHA’s revenue had surged by 115%.
