The National Price Monitoring Committee (NPMC) evaluated the costs of basic goods on Monday and instructed the pertinent parties to keep food prices stable to ease the burden on the average person.
Muhammad Sami Saeed, the caretaker minister for planning, development, and special initiatives, presided over the NPMC meeting.
Representatives from Punjab, KP, Sindh, and Balochistan informed the forum on the current production and supply of wheat, sugar, and other basic commodities, which remained good, while PBS officials provided the price and inflation data during the meeting.

By ordering the provincial governments to use their separate commissions, deputy commissioners, and magistrates against hoarders, the minister highlighted the importance of having zero tolerance for hoarders and profiteers.
In order to monitor and manage prices in the provinces, it was also determined that PBS would grant access to its app to those regions.
The need to reduce the price differential between wholesale and retail goods was also underlined at the discussion. To maximize alleviation for the average person, the relevant parties were instructed to minimize this discrepancy.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the Ministry of Food Security, the Chief Statistician of the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), officials from every province, and other important stakeholders attended the conference.
