OGRA Awards Construction Licenses for LNG Terminals
The Petroleum Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has issued construction permits to Tabeer Energy and Energas.

These permits will be valid for 15 years and relate to Qasim Port’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals. The terminals will be used to import, degas, store and deliver LNG to both companies’ private customers.
Companies have the ability to organize LNG reporting without any accountability to the government. They will also be able to use the gas utility pipeline network they have not had access to until now. The license is subject to two conditions:

Prior to commencing construction, both companies must have an Performance Agreement with PQA to build a Floating Storage and Gas Regenerator (FSRU);
They must sign a Gas Transport Agreement (GTA) with Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd (SSGCL) and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL) so that the national gas pipeline network can be used to deliver LNG to customers. .

Energas and Tabeer Energy have obtained a 10-year marketing license to sell degassed liquefied natural gas (RLNG) and are in talks with SSGCL and SNGPL to secure pipeline capacity.
