A commercial branding initiative launched by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) at Islamabad International Airport has resulted in a dramatic increase in advertising revenue, according to official data.
The airport’s monthly earnings from advertising and branding activities have surged from around Rs. 500,000 to Rs. 50 million following the implementation of a structured commercial branding program.
The increase translates into an additional Rs. 49.5 million in monthly revenue, marking a remarkable growth of nearly 9,900 percent.
Officials said the initiative expanded the availability and utilization of advertising spaces throughout the airport, attracting both local and international brands seeking greater visibility.
The move is part of a broader strategy to maximize the commercial potential of airport infrastructure and diversify revenue streams. Authorities noted that the approach aligns with international airport management practices, where non-aeronautical revenue plays a key role in supporting operational growth and financial sustainability.
The Pakistan Airports Authority believes the success of the program could serve as a model for similar commercial initiatives at other airports across the country.
