Pakistan and Turkish Shipbuilder Signed Two Contracts
Pakistan and a Turkish shipbuilder signed two contracts totalling $33.46 million on Monday to buy four ASD tugboats (LNG compliant) and two pilot boats.

The contracts were signed between Pakistan’s Port Qasim Authority and Sanmar Shipyards, according to a statement from the country’s ministry of maritime affairs.
The leading tugboat manufacturer in Turkey, Sanmar, will supply the tugboats within a year.
The signing ceremony took place in the Maritime Ministry’s headquarters in Islamabad with Syed Ali Haider Zaidi, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, and Mustafa Yurdakul, Turkey’s Ambassador to Pakistan, in attendance.
According to the statement, this would mark a significant improvement in the fraternal ties between the two nations.

Zaidi also asked Sanmar to open a shipyard in Pakistan so they could transfer technology, share experience, and take use of the country’s talented labour force and affordable salaries.
