The occasion will be witnessed by Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is also the Minister Responsible for Commerce. The TTA will permit goods, automobiles, and drivers to travel by train and road in Uzbekistan and its border crossings with Central Asian Republics (CARs). Pakistan will provide similar services, excluding India.

On April 30, 2021, the first shipment on the TIR departed for Uzbekistan via the Torkham border customs station.

According to the sources, Uzbekistan already has a Transit Trade Deal with Afghanistan, and Pakistan has its own deal with Afghanistan, meaning that items will move freely after the agreement is signed.

The Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) between the two countries is nearly complete, but Tashkent is not yet prepared to sign it, citing reasons for the delay.

They agreed to boost the volume of bilateral trade by implementing collaborative efforts such as diversifying trade, expanding business-to-business connections, exchanging trade delegations, and reducing visa requirements.

Pakistan and Uzbekistan are separated by approximately 1,295 kilometres geographically. In contrast, the distance between Karachi and Tashkent is roughly 2,950 kilometres, whilst the distance between Lahore and Tashkent is roughly 1,917 kilometres.
