The federal government has officially announced a three-day public holiday for Eidul Fitr 2025, starting from Monday, March 31, to Wednesday, April 2.
Shawwal Moon Sighting & Eid Date
The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet on March 29 and 30 to determine the sighting of the Shawwal moon, which is expected to be 27 hours old at the time of observation. According to astronomical predictions, the moon will be visible at 3:58 PM on March 29, making Eid most likely to be observed on March 31 (Monday).

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts that the moon will remain visible for up to an hour on March 30, increasing the chances of its sighting.

The Met Office has predicted hot and humid weather in Karachi during the Eid holidays, with temperatures rising up to 37°C. The humidity levels are expected to make the heat feel more intense.
Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramazan and is one of Pakistan’s most important religious festivals. Millions of people across the country travel to celebrate with their families, making it a time of joy, gatherings, and festivities.
