Planning Minister Asad Umar stated on Sunday that reducing population growth should be one of Pakistan’s top national priorities in order to have an impact in critical development areas.

“Suppose Pakistan has sufficient resources to provide quality education to only half of its children. If Pakistan’s population growth matches that of Bangladesh, we would be able to accommodate every child of primary school age within 10 years and every child of secondary school age within 15 years, according to a tweet by Umar.

“With such a spectacular influence in such a short period of time on important development outcomes, population growth reduction should be one of our highest national objectives,” he added.
