Pakistan Ranked 99th Place in GII 2021
According to media sources, for the third consecutive year, Pakistan has risen to 99th rank out of 132 economies on the Global Innovation Index (GII).

Pakistan was ranked seventh among the 10 economies in Central and Southern Asia and seventeenth among the 34 economies in the lower-middle-income group, according to the GII assessment. The country was ranked 107th in the index in 2020 and 105th in 2019.

Pakistan beat the lower-middle-income category on four pillars, namely institutions, business sophistication, knowledge and technology outputs, and creative outputs, according to the research. Pakistan outperformed the Central and Southern Asian average in all four pillars.
