Pakistan Cricket Team to Receive Royal Hajj Invitation if They Win T20 World Cup 2024

Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmed Al Maliki, the Saudi ambassador to Pakistan, announced exciting news regarding the Pakistan cricket team. He claimed they would get a Royal Hajj Invitation the next year if they won the T20 World Cup in 2024. He expressed his desire for the team’s win and best wishes for the next event in a video message. He also prayed for the advancement and development of Pakistan.

Pakistan’s cricket team traveled to Dallas on Saturday night to compete in the T20 World Cup 2024. On June 6, the team, led by captain Babar Azam, will play against the United States in the World Cup opener. 

The Pakistan Cricket Team will play in Group A against Canada, Ireland, and India. From June 2 to June 29, 20 teams will compete in the T20 World Cup 2024, which will be co-hosted by the United States and the West Indies. 

As the competition began on June 2, Malki sent the Pakistani squad a video greeting wishing them luck. “Next year, if they win the World Cup, god willing, the Pakistan cricket team will be royal guests for Hajj,” Malki stated. “I pray for Pakistan’s success and prosperity.”

As cricket became more popular in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have been forging closer connections. The PCB declared in January 2023 that it was prepared to provide Saudi Arabia with its sporting skills. The International Cricket Council admitted the nation as an affiliate member in 2003, and in 2016, it was elevated to associate membership. 

Since the establishment of the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation in 2020, the sport has experienced remarkable growth in Saudi Arabia. The federation has been actively expanding cricket domestically and getting national teams ready for international competition

Winning the T20 World Cup 2024 will earn Pakistan team a Royal Hajj Invitation.
