ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s cement industry recorded stronger sales in September 2026, with domestic dispatches increasing by 7.35% year over year to 3.788 million tons. The data was released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA).
Total cement dispatches, including domestic sales and exports, reached 4.621 million tons during the month. This was 5.95% higher than the 4.361 million tons recorded in September 2025. The increase was mainly supported by higher domestic demand.
North-based cement manufacturers recorded total dispatches of 3.164 million tons in September. This was 2.43% lower than the same month last year. Their domestic dispatches, however, increased by 4.72%.
South-based manufacturers reported stronger growth. Their total dispatches increased by 30.23% to 1.46 million tons. Local dispatches from these mills also rose by 22.98% to 624,833 tons.
Export performance remained mixed across the two regions. North-based mills reported no cement exports during September, compared with 221,252 tons a year earlier. South-based mills increased exports by 36.26% to 832,173 tons.
The industry also recorded growth during the first quarter of fiscal year 2026-27. Total cement dispatches reached 13.141 million tons, up 3.88% from 12.651 million tons in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
Domestic dispatches during the quarter rose 7.79% to 10.845 million tons. Exports, however, declined 11.32% to 2.296 million tons.
The APCMA has raised concerns about weaker export performance and continued fluctuations in energy costs. Industry representatives have also called for greater stability in the operating environment to support the cement and related construction sectors.
