PDWP Approves PKR 24 Billion for Rawalpindi Ring Road Project
Rawalpindi: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) authorized Project Concept-1 (PC-1) of the Rawalpindi Ring Road project for PKR 24 billion, according to news reports.

The 38.3-kilometer-long triple-lane dual-carriageway project will begin at Banth to Thalian Interchange on National Highway 5 (N5), Grand Trunk Road. In addition, it has been stated that five interchanges will be built along the whole circumference of the project at Chakbeli Road, Adiala Road, and Chakri Road.
Speaking to the media, Commissioner of Rawalpindi Division Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah stated that construction on the project is proceeding at a rapid rate and that the release of PKR 24 billion will further accelerate the pace.

Recently, the Punjab Planning and Development Board (PPDB) authorized the project’s land acquisition. Under the updated PC-1, land acquisition will cost PKR 6.1 billion. The project was previously halted owing to charges of theft of allotted funds and the land acquisition procedure.
