PEMRA Made NOCs Compulsory for Housing Projects TVCs
ISLAMABAD, December 22, 2022- PEMRA instructed the private housing projects to get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) before airing promotional advertisement campaigns on TV channels.
At the 175th PEMRA meeting, which was presided over by PEMRA Chairman Mr. Muhamamd Saleem Baig, the decision regarding housing projects TVCs was made. In the meeting, the authority decided that societies that fail to obtain the NOC before running the commercials would face heavy punishment.
The board ruled that it is essential for TV networks to confirm that housing societies have valid licenses and permissions before airing their promotional advertising. The authority announced that it had taken measures to ensure that the public would not be subjected to any fraudulent investments and that their money would be secure.

It is significant to note that the Lahore High Court (LHC) has requested that all regulatory and development agencies offer QR code capabilities for all authorized housing developments. For projects without NOCs, the court has prohibited all print and social media marketing.
On its official website, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has already made sure that all the information on the legitimate housing societies under its control is accessible.
