Peri-Urban Housing Scheme to Be Launched in Punjab Next Month
Islamabad: According to news reports, Punjab’s peri-urban housing programme would be unveiled next month, according to Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill.

This information was disclosed by SAPM Shahbaz Gill at a news conference in Islamabad. He continued by saying that the plan will initially be implemented on 3,000 kanals of land spread over 26 tehsils in the province.
He stated that the cost of a single unit will be approximately PKR 1.4 million and that the residences offered under this initiative will be cheap with simple instalment options.
After the first phase is completed, the project will be expanded to include all of Punjab’s tehsils. Also, Mr. Gill made a suggestion that construction on a different housing project would begin in the upcoming month in Islamabad’s Farash Town.
According to him, 4,000 flats totaling a total of PKR 2.7 million will be built as part of the Islamabad project. He also made a suggestion that journalists might receive affordable housing.

According to Shahbaz Gill, the current administration has introduced mortgage finance, allowing individuals to “construct and own inexpensive houses,” in addition to fostering an environment that will stimulate the improvement of Pakistan’s housing industry.
