Permission of Administration Necessary for Road Cuts in Lahore
According to press accounts, Administrator Metropolitan Corporation and Deputy Commissioner Umer Sher Chattha said in a session convened at Town Hall that road cuttings in Lahore are now illegal.

Before cutting roads, development departments including the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), the Traffic Engineering & Transport Planning Agency (TEPA), the Parks & Horticulture Authority (PHA), and Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL) will be required to obtain permission from the administrator.

The city administrator has barred private organizations from removing state-owned road infrastructure and has threatened legal action in the event of any infractions. In addition, it was emphasized that violations would result in fines. The meeting also underlined the need of swiftly completing development plans and made it clear that neglect in the installation of street lights and patchwork will not be permitted.
