PESCO, SNGPL Ordered to Cut Off Unlawful Housing Societies
Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government is directing power supply firms to continue connecting authorized housing societies in the province with electricity and gas.

According to information, the KP Local Government Department has written to the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) and Sui Northern Gas Pipeline (SNGPL) in this respect as the provincial administration intensifies its campaign against unlawful housing plans.
The letters ask the firms to direct their field representatives to only supply electricity to organizations that have received NOCs from local government agencies as well as tehsil and town municipal administrations (TMAs).

Both institutions have also received the list of housing societies that the Local Government Department has approved.
Following orders from the federal government, the provincial government has started a campaign against Peshawar’s unlawful housing societies, filing police reports (FIRs) against the con artists.

In 181 unlawful residential colonies, including 25 schemes in Tehsil City, 123 in Tehsil Shah Alam, 24 in Tehsil Saddar, and 9 in Tehsil Matani, the Peshawar district government recently in January banned all types of transfers and registers of plots.
