Peshawar Affirmed Capital Metropolitan Government

Peshawar: According to news reports, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) administration agreed to partition Peshawar into six tehsils and designate the provincial capital as a Metropolitan city.

According to reports, the local government and rural development department made the decision and stated that the Town-II and Town-IV will be separated into five tehsils, while the Peshawar Tehsil will be elevated to the rank of a metropolitan government.

The secretary of local government will receive the committee’s recommendations. Six tehsils will receive official recognition following the local government’s approval.

Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) Hassan Khel
Town-II Tehsils:

TMA Mathra
TMA Chamkani
Town-IV (new) Tehsils:

All town tehsils are reportedly allocated category “C,” and the capital metropolitan will be made up of urban councils.
