PHC Guides NAB to Accelerate Queries Into BoK
Peshawar: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) granted the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) an extension of two months to file detailed reports regarding the Bank of Khyber (BoK) and Billion Tree Tsunami project scandals.

During the hearing, the petitioner’s attorney, Ali Gohar Durrani, argued that NAB had begun investigating the alleged scams, but the investigation was terminated due to the involvement of powerful individuals.
The court was informed by NAB Additional Prosecutor General Azeem Dad and NAB Senior Prosecutor Muhammad Ali that the investigation into the Billion Tree project of DI Khan section has been concluded and that references will soon be submitted in this regard, whereas investigations in other regions are ongoing and reports will be submitted upon completion of the investigation process.

The court was also informed that the investigation into BoK has been concluded and forwarded to the headquarters, which will decide whether or not to file a reference. In addition, the court adjourned the case until December 8.
