PKR 581 BN Development Package for South Punjab Launched by PM
Islamabad: According to reports published on Tuesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan is set to unveil a PKR 581 billion development plan for South Punjab to improve power supply, infrastructure, and access to information technology.

Details indicate that 122 projects, including recently approved developments and infrastructure efforts, have been approved. The development plans was finalized with the assistance of the South Punjab Secretariat and the Punjab government. Last week, this was delivered to the Prime Minister during his trip to Lahore.
According to sources, PKR 182 billion would be used to fund 44 projects submitted by the Punjab government, with PKR 52 billion going to 21 new programs already approved for finance under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP). In actuality, the proposal will encompass thirteen ongoing programs totaling PKR 134 billion. The Ignite and Inclusive Services Fund will support 39 projects involving information and technology (IT).

The following are the specifics of the development package’s projects. Dera Ghazi (DG) Khan southern bypass construction at a cost of PKR 6.6 billion. Expansion of the 90-kilometer Qila Saifullah – Multan (N-70) stretch in D.G. Khan, at a cost of PKR 15.8 billion. The cost to dualize the head Muhammad Wala bridge across the Chenab is PKR 7 billion. At a cost of PKR 7.2 billion, a bridge would be built across the Chenab to connect Shujaabad and Khan Garh. The dualization of Vehari-Abdul Hakim Road will cost a total of 13 billion Pakistani rupees. The construction of a bridge across the River Chenab to connect Shaher Sultan and Jalapur Pirwala will cost PKR 6.5 billion. Dualization of the 139-kilometer route between Muzaffargarh and Taranda Muhammad Panah by way of Alipur.
