PM Announces Five-Year Uplift Package for GB
Gilgit: According to news reports, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday announced a special five-year economic uplift plan for the Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) worth PKR 370 billion.

This PKR 370 billion package focuses on road and electrical infrastructure to advance the region’s entire tourism industry. According to the prime minister, this aid package is just the start and more will be given to the British people as needed.
In his opinion, the residents of Gilgit-Baltistan can make enough money from tourism to help the federal government rather than the other way around.
The PM further disclosed that the uplift package includes projects for hydel electricity transmission and production, connection for tourism, skill development, scholarships, better water and sanitation, and healthcare.
