PM Approves New Policy to Develop Sports Sector
In a significant development aimed at revitalizing the sports sector, Pakistan’s Prime Minister has authorized a new sports policy that will be implemented from 2023 to 2027.

In a significant development aimed at revitalizing the sports sector, Pakistan’s Prime Minister has authorized a new sports policy that will be implemented from 2023 to 2027.
The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) will maintain its independent status under the Olympic Charter, according to the newly approved policy.
However, POA officers will now be limited to two terms of three years each. The age limit for officials running for office has also been established at 70 years.

An independent election commission will be established for the national federations to guarantee transparency in the election process in boards and associations.
A panel of adjudicators will be accessible for mutually agreed-upon dispute resolution. A National Sports Council will be formed to foster coordination among all parties.

PSB will be in charge of providing grants, infrastructure, and sports facility development, with a focus on supporting women’s and transgender sports.
