PM Breaks Ground for 4,000 Low-Cost Flats
Islamabad: 600 of the 4,000 apartments in Farash Town, the capital’s low-cost housing development, will be given to slum residents as part of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s groundbreaking ceremony.

Another 2,000 apartments will be distributed to people who enrolled for the Naya Pakistan Housing Program, while the Capital Development Authority will sell 1,600 apartments on the open market (CDA).
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of Prime Minister Imran Khan by the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Frontier Works Organization (FWO), and Naya Pakistan Housing Development Authority (NPHDA), who would work together to complete the project.
In remarks made at the event, Prime Minister Imran stated that the project’s goal was to give the poor section of society, notably the working class and workers, shelter.

He claimed that 1,822 surveillance cameras had been made active as part of the Safe City project, as opposed to 500 during the previous administration. In order to make the city secure, 1,200 additional CCTV cameras will be bought.
He said that low-income groups would be able to own their own homes thanks to government subsidies of Rs 300,000 and mortgage finance at the lowest markup available through banks.
