PM Hopes Riverfront Project to Generate USD 40b in Revenue
According to news reports, Lahore’s prime minister Imran Khan indicated that, once completed, the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project will generate annual revenue of $40 billion.

The prime minister delivered these words at the Smart Forest plantation event in Rakh Jhok, near Sheikhupura. Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab Usman Buzdar and several provincial ministers and secretaries attended the occasion.
Premier claimed that the project would not only address Lahore’s economic demands, but also serve to stabilize the national economy by producing jobs and offering environmental benefits.

While explaining the smart forest project, he added that Huawei Technologies would monitor the smart forest to promote economic growth and prevent illegal tree-cutting.
In addition to the planting of 10 million trees, three river barrages will be constructed as part of the Riverfront project. Additionally, filtration plants will provide people with access to clean water. Similarly, the initiative will prevent sewage from flowing into the Ravi and endangering the inhabitants of the Indus.
