PM Appealed to Developed Countries to Assist with IMF Quota
Prime Minister Imran Khan urged wealthy nations to mobilize adequate financial resources to assist developing nations in addressing the triple challenge of recovering from Covid-19, implementing the Sustainable Development Goals, and attaining environmental objectives.

PM further requested that all nations who make COVID-19 vaccinations expand production and endeavor to ensure that they are rapidly distributed worldwide, particularly in developing nations.
In a video address delivered at the United Nations High Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development, Imran Khan stated that synergies between the three challenges should be utilized to “build back better.”

He recalled that he had proposed the creation of new IMF special drawing rights as a viable means of generating development financing, and that it was imperative for high-income countries to voluntarily reallocate a portion of their unused IMF quota, which he said should be approved as soon as possible.
