PM Inaugurates the Electric Circular Train in Karachi

Prime Minister Imran Khan recently visited Karachi to witness the construction of the Karachi Circular Railway. The Prime Minister was joined by Sheikh Rasheed to the Governor House, where he presided over meetings.

During the discussion, the Prime Minister was updated on the city’s ongoing development initiatives and the political affairs of the province.

In addition, the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council has discussed the construction of infrastructure to eliminate level crossings on the loop part of the railway.

According to the related proposal, flyovers and underpasses would be constructed along the KCR route in order to eliminate 22-level crossings.

In addition, the project will cost around Rs. 20.71 billion, and the KCR will comprise the construction of a 43-kilometer-long, environmentally friendly, cost-effective mass transportation system with electric trains.
