Construction of 128 Km Lilla-Jhelum Dual Carriageway
In an earlier event, Prime Minister Imran Khan broke ground for building the 128-kilometer Lilla-Jhelum route.
The Lilla-Jhelum dual highway will connect Khushab, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, and Mir Pur regions in 30 months at the cost of Rs.16 billion. The completion of the Lilla-Jhelum road will also encourage tourism in the region, increase the supply of farm-to-market agricultural products, expand employment prospects, and stimulate economic growth.
In addition to Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar and Minister of Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain will speak at the groundbreaking ceremony.

The KCR is 43 kilometers long (with 29 kilometers elevated) and has 22 stations. The KCR infrastructure development includes overpasses and overhead bridges worth Rs 27 billion.
Earlier, while praising the efforts of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, the prime minister had described the inclusion of the Karachi Comprehensive Coastal Development Zone in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a “game-changer.”
