PM Visits Gwadar to See Progress on CPEC Phase 2 Project
According to news reports, CPEC Authority Chairman Retired Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa announced in Islamabad that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan will visit Gwadar to inspect the development of projects initiated under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Phase 2.

During a visit to the Hoshab-Awaran Road project site, the chairman emphasised that the development of Gwadar is the prime minister’s top priority. In addition, he noted that road development in Balochistan is essential since it will improve the port of Gwadar’s connectivity with the rest of the nation.
In addition, Jam Kamal Khan, the chief minister of Balochistan, authorised a PKR 600 billion programme to assist the disadvantaged. The revitalization package consists of multiple development plans created in conjunction with the provincial and federal governments. Currently, 80 distinct schemes are being developed.

Chairman Retired Lt. Gen. Asim Bajwa stated that a 150MW project is being constructed in Gwadar to provide electricity to remote communities. In addition, a variety of programmes targeted at providing clean drinking water are undergoing development.
To throw further light on Balochistan’s success, the chairman announced the construction of 31 dams across nine districts. Work on 15 dams has already begun, and construction on further dams will soon commence.
