PMD Predicts More Rain and Snowfall on Weekend
From Saturday through Monday, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts rain with snowfall over the hills in the country’s western and higher regions.

The most recent PMD advisory predicts that a westerly wave will likely hit western sections on Saturday, grasp upper parts on Sunday, and maybe last until Monday.
Between Saturday and Sunday, rain-wind-thunderstorm conditions are predicted in Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, GB, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, and Abbottabad due to the effect of this weather system.

On Sunday and Monday, rain, wind, and thunderstorms with isolated hailstorms are likely in Islamabad, the Pothohar region, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Khushab, Mianwali, Sargod
On Saturday and Sunday, Quetta, Zhob, Barkhan, Harani, Qila Saifullah, Qillah Abdullah, Chamman, Pishin, Panjhur, Turbat, Khuzdar, Kalat, and the Makran coast are predicted to have light to moderate rain, wind, and thunderstorms with snowfall over the hills.

During the forecast time, light rain is also anticipated in Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, DG Khan, Sukkur, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Okara, and Pakpattan.
On Saturday and Sunday, there could be moderate to isolated heavy snowfall, which could hamper travel and lead to road closures in Murree, Galiyat, Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Shangla, Astore, Hunza, Skardu, Neelum valley, and Bagh. During the expected period, landslides could potentially happen in upper KP, Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir, and GB.

Visitors have been urged to exercise extreme caution during the predicted period. The standing crops, notably in the Barani regions of Punjab and KP, would benefit from the rain. After the predicted period, temperatures are likely to drop by 2-4°C. To avoid any undesirable circumstances throughout the anticipated time, it has been suggested to all parties involved to remain vigilant.
