The Punjab Planning and Development (P&D) department met with the Asian Development Bank and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank teams in Lahore to discuss the “Punjab Sustainable Highway Development Project,” according to press sources.

Several cities in Punjab would be connected by a 535-kilometer network of dual carriageway highway sections developed or reconstructed as part of the highway development project.
The project involves repairing the existing carriageways and constructing a secondary carriageway within the road’s right-of-way. According to sources, the land would be acquired for highway construction when necessary.

The Punjab Sustainable Highway Development Project will improve the province’s transportation system. Sources indicate that meeting attendees reviewed the project’s outcomes, anticipated cost, impact, scope, and implementation plans. According to sources, the terms and circumstances of the potential loan were also addressed.
