Punjab Forms Commission for Regularization of Illegal Schemes
According to news sources, the Punjab government has established a commission for the regularisation of illegal housing schemes that were developed without the approval of the competent authority in the province.

Under the approved legislation, the commission will be authorised to legalise or punish illegal housing societies in various regions of the province. According to the released information, the Punjab government allocated 52 million Pakistani rupees for the commission’s operations. The panel will investigate both land-related issues and societal procedures and regulations.
In addition, the newly-formed commission will be led by a retired judge chosen in consultation with the Lahore High Court Chief Justice (LHC).

According to the cabinet’s announcement, the commission will consist of five members: the chairman, a town planner, an environmental specialist, a legal practitioner, and a member of the appropriate field with at least 20 years of experience and practise in their respective fields.
