The Punjab Excise Department has introduced a new policy allowing the registration of vehicles from other provinces in Punjab, aiming to simplify the transfer process for citizens and boost government revenue.
According to official sources, vehicle owners can now register inter-provincial vehicles in Punjab under a streamlined procedure introduced by the department.
Under the updated policy, obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) and clearance certificate from the Excise Department of the vehicle’s original province has been made mandatory. Citizens must submit these documents to the Punjab Excise Office to complete the registration process.
Officials stated that the initiative is designed to make vehicle transfers more convenient while also contributing to increased provincial revenue collection.
The first inter-provincial vehicle has already been successfully registered in Lahore, and excise offices across Punjab have started receiving applications under the new policy.
