Punjab Forefront of Implementing Single National Curriculum
The first phase of the Single National Curriculum (SNC) has been adopted in all public and private schools in Punjab since the opening of academic schools.

Punjab is the first province to implement the first phase of the SNC, from Pre-I to Grade V, whereas the other provinces have not yet done so.
According to the curriculum, English, Urdu, Islamiat, and Mathematics will be taught from Grade I through Grade V. General Knowledge will be taught from Grade I through Grade III, followed by General Science and Social Studies in Grades IV and V. The subject of Social Studies will be taught in Urdu.
Islamiat will be a required subject from Grade 1 through Grade 5, while non-Muslim pupils will take Religious Education in its place. The remaining subjects will be taught in Urdu, with the exception of mathematics and general science.
In three stages, the Single National Curriculum is being developed. Phase I will focus on the production of SNC and textbooks for Pre-K through Grade 5, whereas Phase II, which will begin in March 2022, will focus on the development of a curriculum for Grades 6 and 8.

Truthfulness, honesty, tolerance, respect, peaceful coexistence, environmental consciousness and care, democracy, human rights, sustainable development, global citizenship, personal care, and safety are among the ideals and characteristics that the SNC seeks to impart in its students.
In addition, it will place a higher emphasis on the development of analytical, critical, and creative thinking abilities through an activities-based approach as opposed to teacher-centered learning that is static.
