Punjab Issues 22 NOCs for Setting up Cement Factories
According to a report by officials, the Punjab government has regulated the cement industry and awarded 22 no-objection certificates (NOCs) for the establishment of new cement factories, while ensuring that no further units are created in regions declared “negative.”

In the meantime, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar asserts that the new cement factories will create work for millions of people, hence promoting economic growth in underdeveloped regions.
Buzdar remarked that the government’s efforts to boost the salt and coal industries were also producing favorable outcomes. He stated that the Punjab Mineral Development Corporation had amassed Rs 1,640,000,000,000. According to him, as many as 21 exploration permits for rock salt had been awarded to promote the salt business. The production capacity of the department has been boosted with the opening of four coal and eight salt mines.

The chief minister states that the ban on coal mining has been lifted and that the public auction of 20 coal blocks would be transparent. The Mineral Cadastral System has been implemented to offer current data.
The department of mines and minerals has created a state-of-the-art in-service training academy at the Punjab School of Mines, Katas, where about 3,000 employees have received professional training.
