LAHORE: Pakistani missions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have introduced Punjab land record services to help overseas Pakistanis access essential property documentation without travelling to Pakistan.
The facility has been launched through the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai, bringing selected land and property-related services closer to the Pakistani community living in the UAE.
Fard Services Now Available
The missions have already started issuing fards, official land ownership records used to verify property details in Punjab. The launch indicates that the facility is now operational for eligible overseas Pakistanis seeking access to land records.
The initiative is intended to make property-related procedures more convenient and transparent for expatriates who own or manage land in Punjab while residing abroad.
With a large Pakistani community in the UAE and significant remittance flows between the two countries, easier access to official property records could reduce the need for overseas residents to make in-person trips to Pakistan for routine documentation.
Services Part of Wider Digitalisation Effort
The Pakistani Embassy said the facility is aimed at improving access to government services and bringing essential documentation closer to overseas citizens.
The move also forms part of the broader effort to expand digital and overseas access to public services, particularly for Pakistanis managing property and other official matters from outside the country.
Overseas Pakistanis in the UAE can contact the respective missions through their 24/7 helplines for information about the available services and procedures. They can also visit the embassy or consulate during designated office hours.
Expansion of Overseas Property Services
The UAE initiative follows Pakistan’s earlier introduction of digital land record and passport services for Pakistanis in the United Kingdom in August 2025.
Expanding land-record facilities to additional overseas locations could make property verification and documentation more accessible for Pakistanis living abroad. For property owners, the availability of official fard services through diplomatic missions can also provide a more convenient way to obtain ownership records without arranging travel to Punjab solely for documentation purposes.
