Punjab to Implement E-tendering for Transparency
According to news reports, the Punjab Housing Department has planned to introduce an online system for tendering of government projects throughout the state.
In a meeting presided over by the Provincial Minister for Housing, Malik Asad Khokhar, the decision was made in the presence of the Additional Secretary for Housing, Umar Farooq, the Deputy Secretary for Housing, Mumtaz Ahmed, and PITB officials.
The government will collaborate with PITB to implement a centralized system to remove bribing culture. According to the given information, the Housing Department, Lahore Development Authority (LDA), Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), and all other subordinate departments would implement the suggested E-tendering system.

After the introduction of the system, individuals will be able to bid on projects from the comfort of their own homes using a transparent system. A call center will also be established to assist customers with general inquiries.
The applicants for each tender will be assigned a unique code, and the computer will select the qualified firm for each award. The housing minister announced during a press conference that only firms on the department’s approved list will be permitted to participate in the procurement process.
