Punjab Tourism Department to Install Affordable Tourist Pods
Recently, news outlets claimed that Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) Managing Director (MD) Tanveer Jabbar stated that the government plans to construct affordable glamping pods at many tourist locations in the province to promote tourism.

The effort will cost 40 million Pakistani Rupees and would help to create local jobs and boost tourism while limiting its negative environmental impact. In the initial phase, pods had been planted in Murree and Patriata, and they would soon be installed in Kotli Sattian, Soon Valley, and Changa Manga.
According to a TDCP spokesperson, the program was started by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) tourist development authority and was a success, as glamping pods were erected in Thandiani (Galyat), Bishigram (Swat), Sheikh Badin (Lakki Marwat), Shangla (Malakand), and Sharan (Mansehra).

Following in their footsteps, Punjab has chosen to put pods in Murree in order to deflect tourist traffic from the city center to its outskirts by providing affordable lodging.
