The Punjab Traffic Police have announced major facilitation measures for motorcycle riders by streamlining the driving licence process, allowing applicants to obtain both learner and regular licences on the same day.
According to a spokesperson, the initiative aims to enhance public convenience and encourage more riders to acquire valid licences without unnecessary delays.
Official data shows that 2.354 million motorcycle licences have been issued across Punjab so far this year, including more than 1 million regular driving licences.
In addition, over 671,000 citizens have renewed their learner and regular licences, while more than 710,000 individuals have benefited from learner licence services.
DIG Traffic Muhammad Waqas Nazir said a significant number of road accidents involve unlicensed motorcyclists, adding that strict action is being taken against violators.
He urged citizens to obtain proper driving licences promptly to avoid fines and legal consequences.
