Rainwater Drainage Scheme to Complete Within a Month
Gujrat: Construction of a rainwater collection tank near Jail Chowk has begun, and a pipeline is also being installed along Rehman Shaheed Road to connect the tank with the disposal station next to Usman Plaza.

According to the deadline set by the administration for the Public Health and Engineering Department (PH&ED), the project, which is a part of a pipeline recently installed from Boley Bridge of the Hailsey storm water channel to the disposal station close to Usman Plaza Chowk, is anticipated to be finished by June 30. However, it could take an additional two weeks to finish by July 15.
The project is being worked on to be finished before the rainy season, according to Gujrat Municipal Corporation administrator and deputy commissioner Saif Anwar Jappa.

DC Jappa reported that 52-inch concrete pipes were being installed to connect the tank with the disposal station and that excavating was being done for the building of a water gathering tank near Jail Chowk, where rainfall would initially accumulate.
The plan is intended to assist the government in reducing the yearly urban flooding that occurs in the city’s residential and commercial districts.
