Rawalpindi Master Plan’s Term of Reference Ratified
According to public media sources, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza said that the Terms of Reference (ToR) for creating Rawalpindi’s Master Plan had been approved.

At the 44th meeting of RDA, well-known consulting firms were requested to submit Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for the preparation of the master plan and structural development plan for the Rawalpindi district.
In addition, it was reported that the Punjab government handed the job of authorizing new housing plans in the Rawalpindi district to the civic authority in 2013 and that the authority made steps to prevent the district from seeing a further proliferation of unlawful housing projects. The government sent approved and pending housing proposals to RDA later in 2019.
From 2013 to 2019, it was reported that 25 plans were established, but only six were approved. Currently, the RDA has issued 78 challans, 292 legal notices, sealed 106 offices, filed 99 FIRs, and damaged advertisement boards and housing society gates.

In addition, utility departments such as Sui Gas, IESCO, and PTCL were instructed not to provide their services, and the District Collector was instructed to halt land transactions in these communities. Additionally, the marketing and reservation offices of unauthorized housing developments were sealed. Additionally, RDA has released a list of approved housing projects to its website.
