Rawalpindi Villages to Receive Major Islamabad Sector-Style Development

The Punjab government has included several villages in Rawalpindi Division in its Model Village Project aimed at improving infrastructure and public facilities in rural areas.

Under the initiative, villages in Kallar Syedan, Gujar Khan, Kahuta, Kotli Sattian, and nearby areas will receive major upgrades including clean drinking water systems, street lights, paved roads, drainage networks, children’s parks, and wastewater treatment facilities.

The development work will be carried out through the Punjab Rural Municipal Services Company, with a total allocation of more than Rs. 2.42 billion.

The project was launched under the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to bring modern infrastructure and better living standards to rural communities across the province.

According to official details, villages selected in Rawalpindi Division include Changa Bangial in Gujar Khan, Salamabad in Kallar Syedan, Jawa village in Kahuta, Lehtrar Bala and Santh Anwali Kohati in Kotli Sattian, along with Sultani Dhoke, Chak Baqar Shah, Khokhar Zar, Dhoke Daraz Dhakali, Sadwal Langa Bhain, Bilalabad, Waryal, Niragi, Jand Awan, and Basharat village.

Sources said tenders for the schemes have already been issued, and construction work is expected to begin soon after contracts are awarded.

Authorities aim to complete the projects as quickly as possible to deliver improved services and infrastructure to residents.
