RDA Ask District Admin of Land Acquisition for Leh Expressway
According to news reports, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has approached the district administration for assistance in land acquisition for the Leh Expressway and other development projects.

According to reports, RDA has experienced difficulties in performing its tasks due to a staffing shortfall. This has resulted in the postponement of the project’s December launch, as the required land survey could not be completed on time. Previously, RDA was responsible for assessing 16.5 kilometres of land along a storm drain.
According to the details, the land designated for the project consists of 1,279 kanals, of which 1,035.9 kanals are privately owned, 132.4 kanals are owned by Military Engineering and Works, 54.7 kanals are under the control of Chaklala Cantonment Board, and 56 kanals are owned by Rawalpindi Cantonment Board.

In addition, 1,604 residences are anticipated to be demolished as part of the project. The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) of Rawalpindi wants to construct a 15-kilometer-long water supply line from Chauhan Dam to six union councils in the city.
The project would provide 6 million gallons of water per day to the designated localities. The union councils of Chakra, Girja, Chak Jalaldin 1 and 2, Kilial, and Lakhan would benefit from the initiative. The government of Punjab has already allocated PKR 5 billion to the project, of which PKR 1 billion would be used to purchase land for the supply line.
