RDA Crack Down on Unapproved Housing Scheme Advertisements
RAWALPINDI: The marketing firm Apex Group has received a warning from the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) for allegedly promoting a dubious housing development called Mid City Islamabad close to the New Islamabad International Airport.
According to RDA Director General Saif Anwar Jappa, it is against the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules-2021 to advertise such illegal housing schemes without the required RDA clearance.

Jappa emphasised that a housing project cannot be deemed acceptable or legitimate unless it has secured a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the RDA, according to the news release issued by the RDA.
The public is misled into thinking that this unapproved project is already approved and legitimate thanks to the Apex Group’s marketing efforts and its advertising.
Jappa issued a warning to the advertising firm to stop engaging in this criminal conduct that defrauds consumers who put their hard-earned money into these unlicensed and fraudulent housing societies based on deceptive advertisements.

The RDA’s Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) section has been instructed to remove all information associated with shady schemes in order to stop further deception and financial damages to the public.
Jappa further emphasised that it is simple to check the legitimacy of housing projects via the RDA website or by getting in touch with the MP&TE Directorate of RDA directly.
Officials claim that if the Apex Group and its organizations don’t follow the rules, the RDA has the authority to sue them under the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Schemes Rules 2021.
