RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has intensified enforcement against illegal housing schemes, unauthorized construction, and land-use violations within its jurisdiction.
The latest operation was carried out by the RDA Enforcement Squad on the directions of Rawalpindi Commissioner and RDA Director General Salman Ghani.
Three Locations Targeted
According to the reported enforcement action, teams conducted operations at three separate locations in the Morgah area.
The first location was Downtown Morgah on Defence Road, opposite Askari-14, where the authority took action over reported regulatory violations.
Officials also inspected and acted against a land subdivision near Dhok Nawaz Graveyard. A separate operation was conducted against an alleged illegal housing scheme near Riaz Chowk in Morgah.
The actions form part of the authority’s efforts to prevent development activity that takes place without the required approvals and to enforce applicable planning and building regulations.
Buyer Verification Remains Important
The latest crackdown highlights the importance of checking regulatory approvals before purchasing property in or around Rawalpindi housing developments.
Potential buyers should verify a scheme’s approved layout plan, No Objection Certificate (NOC), land ownership, and development permissions through the relevant authorities before making payments or entering into an agreement.
RDA has not disclosed further details regarding the penalties or the status of individual properties affected by the latest operation. Further enforcement action may depend on the findings and compliance status of the concerned developments.
