RDA to Spread Awareness Against Illegal Housing Developments
Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Raja Tariq Mehmood Murtaza recently announced that the authority had launched a campaign to raise awareness about illegal housing schemes in the city, with the names of the offending housing societies listed on the authority’s website, according to media sources.

During an interview with the media, the chairman claimed that the authority had a window in its office where individuals could obtain information about the aforementioned housing societies. He stated that not all websites were reliable, as some were involved in the purchase and sale of plots in unlawful housing projects.
In addition, the head of the RDA stated that illegal housing organizations were exploiting foreign Pakistanis, who frequently trusted dubious web portals.

He went on to state that the chairman had also sent letters to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) requesting that websites promoting illicit housing plans be blocked and fined.
In addition, Chairman Murtaza directed the relevant authorities to expedite the process of acquiring no-objection certificates (NOC) so that investors might invest without fear in the city.
