Ready to Build Hotel Near National Stadium, AKD tells Ramiz
Aqeel Karim Dhedi, a wealthy businessman from Karachi, has assured Ramiz Raja, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, that he will invest in the construction of a hotel near the National Stadium.

Monday, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) met with the leader of the city’s business community at the AKD’s headquarters to discuss ways to boost Pakistan’s cricket economy.
Dhedhi told Ramiz that he will fund the construction of a 200-room, five-star hotel surrounding the National Stadium on his own. He indicated that it would be very simple for him to contribute $8-$9 million to the project.
The hotel’s primary function will be to house international touring teams and further enhance the standard security arrangements PCB makes for them.

Dhedhi expressed his delight that the PCB finally recognises the significance of the business community and is willing to hear them out. During the meeting, the investors, including Dhedhi, expressed their intent to compete with India in terms of cricket’s commercial aspect.
