Recent Update About Karachi Circular Railway Project
KCR will measure 43 kilometers in complete length. whereas 14 kilometers will be at grade, 29 kilometers will be elevated (on ground) Daily ridership on the KCR will range between 400,000 and 450,000.

The KCR has been divided into two parts for completion. In Phase 1, a civil infrastructure consisting of underpasses and overheads will be created at an approximate cost of 27 billion rupees.
From PSDP, 27 Billion Rupees would be supplied. The federal government will provide 21 billion rupees, while the Sindh government would contribute 6 billion rupees.
In September of 2021, Prime Minister Imran Khan will perform the ground-breaking ceremony for phase 1 of the KCR. The final contractor has been selected for the project. FWO will build the structure. In addition, the project’s design has been completed.

The second phase of KCR will be created through a public-private partnership. In October 2021, the Public Sector will be invited and bids will be issued.
