Remittance Inflow Roshan Digital Accounts Crosses $2 Billion
According to August 16 news sources, the State Bank of Pakistan has announced that the Roshan Digital Account (RDA) program has reached a major milestone by surpassing the USD 2 billion barrier in just 11 months.

According to the SBP, the RDA project has surpassed the $2 billion mark. The central bank praised foreign Pakistanis for their confidence and response to RDA-sponsored activities.
According to analysts, Pakistanis living abroad have invested in various services the program provides. In addition, it was reported that remittance inflows would increase as the central bank presents new investment alternatives.
Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib claimed in a tweet that the rising remittance inflow demonstrates the confidence and trust of non-resident Pakistanis in Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s policies.

Prime Minister Imran Khan introduced RDA in September 2020 to enable abroad Pakistanis to register bank accounts in Pakistan remotely. SBP, the federal government, and eight commercial banks collaborated on this initiative.
The RDA will continue to draw investment from abroad Pakistanis, particularly from the Gulf region, according to analysts and experts.
