Returns on National Saving Instruments Reviewed
Islamabad: The Treasury Department issued a notice to change the profit margins on all national savings certificates, which took effect immediately, according to media sources.

The Treasury Notice said the following adjustments were made to national savings certificates:
- Effective May 19, 2021, the yield on Shuhada Family Welfare Accounts and Pensioner Benefit Accounts has been reduced from 11.52% to 11.04%.
- The margin on the Barbud Savings Certificate has also been reduced from 11.52 D44 to 11.28%. Special savings certificate income rose from 8.8% to 9D44. Defense Savings Certificate yield decreased from 9.52D to 7.68%
- 44 The accrued earnings for the first five half-years of the postal savings are set at 4% half-yearly and 8% annually. The same account has a win rate of 4.5% half year and 9% yearly over the last 6 months.
- The normal income certificate return was set at PKR 720 for PKR 100,000 certificates and PKR 360 for PKR 50,000 certificates.
