Revision of Islamabad’s Master Plan Faces Inordinate Delay
Islamabad: The city agency is yet to appoint a consultant firm to carry out the assignment, causing an excessive delay in the modification of the master plan for the city.

In response to its public notice, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) did not receive any offers from reputable international companies. A group of four consulting firms with 11 companies submitted their proposals, nevertheless.
Unfortunately, none of them met the requirements outlined by the CDA. Because these companies lacked the necessary experience, a technical committee of the CDA advised against accepting their bids a few months ago.
According to sources, the CDA board chose to contact the Planning Commission last month rather than make a definitive decision regarding accepting or rejecting the proposals of the consortium of four enterprises.

After creating an “interim” report that was approved by the cabinet to amend the bylaws, the panel delegated the correct revision to a consulting firm that has not yet been hired.
