Ring Road Project Bidding Process Called Off
Rawalpindi: The Ring Road project’s bidder selection procedure was recently cancelled.
Following the conclusion of the investigation, the project’s bidding procedure will now begin, according to a senior official of the divisional administration.

Imran Khan, the prime minister, has taken note of the purported adjustments to the Rawalpindi Ring Road project’s realignment, which allegedly increased the project’s cost by Rs 25 billion and benefited some private housing societies.
According to sources, the entire cost of the authorized project was Rs 56 billion, of which Rs 40 billion came from private investors and Rs 16 billion was covered by the Punjab government.

However, they claimed that a project proposal from 2017 with a total cost of Rs 57 billion—of which Rs 37 billion came from the private sector and Rs 20 billion from the province government—had already been made.
They claimed that nine housing societies gave the Punjab government 246.7 kanals for the project for free while they also agreed to spend Rs 5 billion to build five interchanges.
